Hi I’m Ava Grawe and I am a current junior at Erie High School in Erie, IL. I currently play for EP Panthers travel ball team. I started with t-ball when I was 3 years old and continued to go on to coach pitch etc. like many other softball players. But there are ways I am different from others as well.
I started playing golf my sophomore year just for fun and in the fall for the very first time. Solely because I felt very unproductive my freshman year during the fall. Trying golf gave me a new perspective on things and sports in general. I have the feeling of being humbled to my own extent. While learning to be humble enough to realize that there will always be someone out there better than me at something. Whether it’s golf or softball. But seeing how much experience the other girls had during golf season showed me how much harder I had to work to get to the place I wanted to be. Over the years I have realized that I am a very hard working and dedicated player. I set many goals for myself knowing it will take time and patience to get where I want to be. And I am willing to make sacrifices for the things I’d like in life. Even if they are hard decisions to make.
Other than the sports I play in high school, softball, basketball and golf, I enjoy fishing, baking and spending time with family. I had second thoughts about baking but I thought I’d get deeper into it. I also like to show my love for the sports I play through Christ himself. I’d like to thank him for the opportunity to have the ability to even step on the field knowing many others don’t have that opportunity. I thank him and my parents for the chance to play travel ball so I can really prove myself to God how I truly feel about the sport of softball. Though not playing for myself but for the LORD above.
