Hello! My name is Kierra Lynn Schulz. I currently live in Northwest Illinois and will be a senior at Lena-Winslow High School in the fall. I just finished playing for my High School softball team and had a fantastic year at the plate (offensively and defensively). I received the 1st Team All-Conference Award for the NUIC-West Conference this year. I will now be starting my travel USSSA 18U softball season. I have been playing travel softball for the past 7 years. My primary position is catcher but I have also pitched, played 1st base and played 3rd base.
I would describe myself as a dedicated student athlete, goal-driven, hardworking on and off the field, and a positive leader. I also participate in volleyball and basketball for my high school teams. I love to be involved with committees within my school and strive to make my school and the community I live in a better place. I am very involved with Student Council and the National Honor Society. I love the theater, music, and art. I have played multiple lead roles in our school's plays and musicals. I have over 90 hours of volunteer work participating in bake sales, Reach Out and Read Program for Monroe Clinic, children's sporting camps (volleyball, basketball, and softball), working concession stands for the Athletic Boosters and Music Boosters, and coaching girls' little league softball. When I am not involved with sports or school activities, I love to hang out with my family and friends.
My short-term goals would be to continue working on my strength and speed, help my softball team win another regional title, and obtain a scholarship and play softball at the collegiate level. My long-term goals are to inspire young girls' to work hard and always follow their dreams. I would like to receive my doctoral degree and practice dermatology in a rural community setting. I am looking for a college that is a good fit for me and will help me meet my goals academically, athletically, and personally.
Thank you!
