Hello! My name is Marissa Adams and I currently attend and play softball at Heartland Community College. I have just begun my sophomore year at Heartland and I am majoring in Business. I hope to go into marketing or accounting. I have pitched for the Hawks the past two years.
I attended Le Roy High School and graduated in 2017. I graduated as Valedictorian of my class and had a 4.1 out of a 4.0 GPA. I was the starting pitcher from the middle of my freshman year through my senior season. During my senior high school season our team went 28-7, which was a school record. As a pitcher I was 20-6 beating the number of wins in a season of 16. Also I beat the career number of wins of 33 in my junior year. I ended my career with 68 wins. My senior season I also had 189 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.29 in 153 innings. In 2015, I was voted MVP by my teammates for Le Roy High School as a sophomore. In 2017, I received all conference 1st Team All-Conference and 3rd Team All-State. I also received the All-American Scholar-Athlete award. My High School softball coach was Doug Hageman and you can reach him at [email protected] or by phone at 309-825-8002.
My current GPA at Heartland is 3.714. As a freshman, I earned the Academic All-American Award. On the field, my freshman year I pitched 134 innings. In those innings I had 57 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.13. Currently, I throw a fastball, changeup, drop, rise, curve, screw and an off-speed. My favorite pitches are curve, screw and changeup.
If you would like to contact my coach at Heartland Community College his name is Steve Leverton and you can reach him at 309-264-7255.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. I am a hardworking athlete wanting to continue my athletic and academic career.
Respectfully,
Marissa Adams
