Personal Statement

Hi, My name is Sierra Hiser and I am an upcoming 2022 senior for Mt. Zion High School in Mt. Zion, IL. I am a varsity starter on my high school team and I also play on an 18u level A travel team that I have been on for 5 years. I love the challenges and drive that softball has brought out in me, I always push myself to be the best that I can and encourage others around me to be confident as well. I love seeing a team that holds each other up because that is what makes a a team thrive. I am a power hitter and can field from any position and I would love to bring my abilities to a college team and help be a building block to a winning combination. Since joining my travel team we have won many major tournaments including USA state and runner up in USSSA state level A. I thrive on high pressure situations on the field and just enjoy the game. My goal is to get a teaching degree and become a college softball coach. In my free time, I am an assistant coach to the Mt. Zion Jr High Softball team and this will be my second season with them. I also teach batting lessons to the younger kids in the area and I thoroughly enjoy coaching them to be the best that they can be.

Sierra’s travel team Heat Black 16u played up in the 18u division and won 5 out of 6 games placing top seed going into championship and winning the championships. Sierra played 1st base with no errors out of 6 games. Please see stats under travel team info for batting average.

Played up in a high school bracket of 16-18u and went undefeated for all 5 games and winning the championship. Sierra hit 2 home runs on Saturday and 2 more on Sunday off of a college pitcher. Played 1st base with no errors for 5 games.
