My name is Ava Zukowski and I am a student-athlete in the graduating class of 2023 at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Palos Hills, Illinois. Scholastically I am ranked in the top 5% in academics in my school. I am enrolled in all Honors and AP classes. I am a part of the school community, as I am involved in the Spanish National Honors Society, as well as my school softball and volleyball teams. I previously played soccer too, but my sports scheduling no longer is compatible to play it. In Middle School I received the “SWIC'' medal involving sports participation. This medal recognizes the One Female Athlete who played/started the most total seasons (of all sports offered from the 6th thru 8th grade) of all girls in the school. I have played competitive “A” level fastpitch softball since age 12. I am a currently a starting Varsity player (Shortstop) at my Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and have been named such in the varsity program since my freshman year. I was awarded the “Golden Glove'' award by my Coaches/Teammates for the most outstanding defensive performer this season. This season I batted 1st and 3rd in the Varsity lineup. I also was a leader of the Varsity team in overall batting average, on-base percentage, walks, highest contact rate, and balls put into play. My travel team is the Illinois Thunderbolts (franchise of the Birmingham Thunderbolts). My team is currently recognized/rated nationally as we are ranked #5 in the Midwest and nationally ranked #20. I am a key component of this team. I am a right-handed utility player that is known for being game intelligent and can be put into any of seven player positions in any game situation across the field without missing a stride or any demonstrable weakness at these positions.
