My neighbor played softball from when she was young through the collegiate level. As a young girl, I looked up to her as she played with me in the back yard and watched her games, which inspired me to join a team when I was eight. Through that time, my father passed away and I had to grow up as a strong, independent girl. Every game I play is in the memory of my father. He showed me that all your success comes from the hard work you put in, and that mistakes do not define you as a player, but how you come back from them.
Throughout my years of playing, I learned that keeping a positive attitude makes a big impact on how one performs, along with always having a smile on your face no matter the outcome. Finding a coach that would challenge me, along with dedicating himself to help me exceed to the next level was one of the hardest decisions throughout my softball career. Learning the importance of teamwork and discipline helped me accomplish my goals and achieve my dreams. With all the blood, sweat and tears, my passion and love for the game only got stronger.
