Being an athlete is a privilege. Not everyone gets the opportunity to play or experience the love and passion that softball gives. For me I found softball to be a safe place. Personally anytime there would be a bad game, I would remind myself “there’s always next weekend” or “we will do better next game” because I believe that as a team we can rise together and be better together. I believe in team success, if one fails we all fail. I want everyone to be successful. I teach a 7 year old and a 12 year old pitching and then another 12 year old catching. Every time I see them, they seem to bring more smiles and seem to have more passion for softball. I couldn‘t ask for much more, and all the people in my life is why I have the passion I do. My dad especially. When my mom got sick she wasn’t physically able to go on long trips. My dad would always go and support me everytime, and never did he ever complain. He would sit in the cold, hot, or even poring down rain just to see me play ball. He has shown me that if I want to play college softball bad enough, then I have to work my butt off and go get it. All the time and effort isn’t for just nothing, it’s the opportunity to play college softball.
