Personal Statement

My freshman year at Hononegah High School, I was the starting catcher on the varsity team and batted 4th in the lineup. During my first year of high school softball, I learned a lot about playing smart and being a team player. The mental aspects of the game that I learned help me know what to do in game situations and help me be a heads-up player.  Being a smart player and teammate is a big part of why I was awarded First Team All Conference as a freshman. This achievement helped me gain confidence in myself and pushed me to try out for a college exposure travel team. I am now a catcher and third baseman for this team.

In the future, I hope to excel in academics and athletics in college. The skills I have learned—and am still learning—from both high school and travel softball, will help me succeed at the next level because I have learned how to manage time, how to constantly improve my game, and how to work well with people. I will rely on these learned traits as I focus on both academic and athletic success at the collegiate level.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
