I am an athlete through and through, you name the sport and I will will give it my all. Over the years I have played basketball, golf, wrestling and even played football for eight years. However, softball has always been my heart and soul, along with my studies. I plan to attend college to earn my degree in Criminal Justice and play softball while doing so.
I started playing on a travel team at the age of eight and still play on the same travel team to this day. My team is associated with my high school and many of the girls in my school play on the same travel team as I do. It was important for all of us girls to play together, and stay together, so that we could form a bond, work together and become the best team we could be. I think this is an important building block in having a great team and that being a good teammate, and forming close relationships, is invaluable.
Our theory of playing together and staying together has been proven. Our team went to state in 2019, we lost our season in 2020 due to COVID and were Regional champs in 2021. We actually lost the Sectional finals to the #1 ranked 2A team in the state. My high school team was ranked #3 in 2A and #16 in all divisions in the state of Illinois last season. I was the starting shortstop and have been playing at the Varsity level since Freshman year.
I have played shortstop my entire softball career, with the exception of playing third base from time to time. I have been voted MVP in several tournaments, my travel team won the State tournament last summer and came in 5th at Nationals this past summer. I work hard and play harder. My goal is to play at the college level. I have the experience, the ability, the knowledge and most importantly, the love of the game in my heart.
