To me, sports in general, are very important. They have shaped my life since the day I could run and hold a ball. There has never been a time in my life when I do not remember playing at least two sports at a time. I have pushed my body and mind for so many years to get the best opportunities I can. So, to play softball in college means the world, to not just to me, but to my younger self as well.
Also, being the coach’s daughter has taught me a lot, and has made me a better person and player. My mom was a pitcher at Millikin University, so softball is a very beloved sport in our family. From a young age, my mom has taught me to lead by example, to not leave anyone on my team behind, and that the only two things that you can control are your attitude and your effort.
That same attitude and effort also carries over into the classroom. I work hard to be a model student I want to attend a college that can push, not just my body, but also my brain. I want to play anywhere possible, and become a role model that my younger sister can look up to. I want my coaches to say that they were the ones that brought me to where I am, and I want my mom to say that she raised a college athlete just like her.
