Jessi Wright '24 Recruiting Profile

As a three sport athlete, I have developed numerous skills as a team player and as a well-rounded person I am outside of sports. A strong trait of mine is being coachable from the standpoint of loving to learn and continually improve myself. Seeing the results from yourself and your team as a whole from working hard is an amazing feeling. Not only do I love softball, but I love all things competitive. I had a slight back injury during my junior high softball season which resulted in me having to sit the remainder of the season. Thankfully, I have not had any injuries since. Because of how competitive I am, sitting that season showed how much I love to be in the game. 

    My aspiration to play collegiate sports has stemmed from watching my older brother succeed in both football and track and field at the collegiate level. Growing up, both my brother and I have always been three sport athletes. As a senior in high school, I know I am not ready to be done with the game. I believe playing at the college level will give me an opportunity to not only grow as an athlete but as a person as well. As my older brother had such an amazing experience using NCSA, I felt the wise decision was to look into it myself to see where it would take me. 

    I am a four year varsity softball player as well as a two year varsity volleyball and basketball player. I am a team leader and strive to bring the team together to accomplish a single goal. I have received awards from all three sports I participate in, but one that stands out to me is being nominated the Silver Slugger. An amazing opportunity I have also received was being recognized and asked to join a traveling softball team over the summer. All four years of high school, I have been placed on the all-conference academic team. School has always been a priority to me. I strongly believe sports cannot be placed higher than schoolwork. My intentions are to not only continue my softball career but to get an excellent education as well.
