Kayla Lorenz '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches, my name is Kayla Lorenz and I am a 2022 athlete from Vernon Hills, IL. In my college search, I am looking for a school that can challenge me academically and still allow me to compete at a competitive level of softball no matter the division. Throughout high school, I have maintained a 3.878 (out of 4) GPA while taking challenging honors courses, as well as AP classes to help me prepare for college. I prefer the more hands-on classes that allow me to be more creative and express my abilities, which is why I am hoping to pursue a career in Graphic Communications/Design. 

More on the athletics side, I have been playing competitive sports since I was about five years old. I participated in soccer for a couple years, received my black belt in karate, played volleyball for three years, and ultimately decided to pursue my career in softball as it has brought me the most joy on and off the field. I would consider myself a team player and am always looking to better myself and teammates so we can succeed and grow together. I love being talkative in the dugout and on the field, whether its encouraging my teammates or calling out plays, I find communication to be one of my favorite aspects of this game. 

Overall, I am just looking for a school that will help me continue to grow as a student-athlete, and continue playing softball at a competitive level.
