2020 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Alana (Laney) Starbuck and I am a junior at Cascade High School in Clayton, Indiana. I have been playing since I was three years old and I fell in love with the game. I started learning how to pitch when I was nine and still love the challenge. I have been playing travel softball at various levels since I was twelve and am currently a pitcher and utility player for Indiana Gators 04 KLV.
I’m very driven to succeed in everything I do. I’m currently ranked 19th out of 109 students in my graduating class. I made the varsity softball team as a freshman, but the season was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19. I am a member of the Drama Club and participate in the musicals at the high school. I enjoy the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment from performing on stage. After high school, I plan to go to college and study health sciences. My dream is to become an occupational therapist.
Softball has been such a big part of my life since a young age and I would very much like to continue playing in college. Thank you for viewing my profile and I hope you consider me for your program.
