Makenna Hostetler '18 Recruiting Profile

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to view my profile.  I currently attend Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, IN.  It is a very large school and is highly competitive both athletically and academically.  Growing up, I have competed in many sports at a high level (mostly "A" level Club) and am currently a two sport athlete, playing both varsity golf and softball.  My father introduced me to softball when I was 4 years old and I haven't looked back.  I have been playing at a highly competitive level since I was 9.   Between the work I put in by myself, my team and my multiple different coaches, I am growing each day and look forward to bettering myself every time I step on the field.   As a freshman last year, I was a member of our school's Regional Championship & Semi-state tournament team.  This past summer, I helped lead my club team, the Ft Wayne Spartans, in winning the Indiana NSA B State Championship, and competing very well at larger tournaments throughout the Great Lakes area.  Our Spartans team finished 31-9 playing A/high B competition and I finished the season with a .500 BA & .551 OBP.      

I have grown up in a strong Christian family who has supported me in everything I do.  I am a person of character, have a very strong work ethic, the desire to compete at a high level and the passion to get better each and every day.  Being as active as I am, managing my time is very important in order to keep my grades top priority.  Ultimately, I am interested in competing at a highly respected University that has a solid softball program, in which I would not only play, but most importantly have the ability to obtain a quality education.  I look forward to contributing as both an athlete and a great teammate.
