My name is Jalyn Kopp, I am in the graduating class of 2024 from Knightstown high school in Knightstown, IN. I am a three sport athlete playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. My goal my freshman year was to play varsity for all three sports and I did just that. During my freshman and sophomore season of softball I made all conference, all area, all county, and was 10th in the state in stolen bases my freshman year. I always set my goals very high and am always working very hard to reach them. Since receiving those awards I haven’t stopped working. I am never satisfied with where I am at and know there is always room for improvement. I am a student-athlete and set my priorities straight with maintaining good grades and keeping a GPA of 3.8 or better. Ever since I was little I had the dream to play at the collegiate level. I understand that playing college softball at a high level is a big commitment and takes a lot of work. I am constantly working on things to make myself a better teammate and player. Ever since joining the Phoenix organization I have developed into the role of being a team leader. I always lead by example through constantly working hard on and off the field. I am a very vocal teammate who always cheers on their teammates giving them positive reinforcement and challenge them to be the best they can. I set goals for myself and always set out for them. To accomplish these goals I work on drills at home focusing on speed, flexibility, agility, and power. I am very involved in my community and at school. I am in the National Honor Society, history club, art club, voice, student council, and do volunteer work. I also help with youth leagues for basketball and I have been asked by coaches in my travel softball organization to speak to the younger girls about being a strong leader and always having a positive attitude and cheering on your teammates. I will continue working hard so I can achieve my goal of playing at the next level.
