Personal Statement
After college I would like to become a Child Psychologist or an Elementary School Teacher. My parents became foster caretakers for other children in need during my high school years, and at the time I was taking classes with Dr. Welch who taught me all there is to know about child development. At that moment I realized I wanted to help children who come from broken homes or had trauma at an early age. During my high school years I enjoyed the game of softball and played for travel teams in different countries. I have learned to adapt and overcome adversity. I feel that I would be a great candidate for a softball team, because I have learned to become a leader and I am willing to follow my team members and learn from them as well. My father is in the Military and with the majority of his assignments being overseas, my character has evolved due to meeting other people in different countries. As an athlete I learned to lead the team even though I was always the new comer. I have a 3.6 GPA and I am able to balance my education and my love for the game.
