Annika Nelson '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a 4.0 student at Clear Lake High School planning to double major in the sciences and business while playing college softball at the highest level possible.  I am a focused individual with high expectations for myself and a strong year round dedication to my skill level and fitness.  I also possess strong leadership skills advocating for my teammates, encouraging and sharing tips with them on and off season, and building relationships to strengthen us as a team.  I started playing baseball in kindergarten, then switched to softball as a 9th grader.  I love catching, but I have played and enjoy all other positions at a high level (except pitching).  At catcher I am able to call pitches and see the strategy of the game based on each opponent’s strengths and weaknesses.  My arm strength is already at a college level.  I want to play on a team with coaches and teammates who will challenge me to be my very best physically, mentally, and academically.
