The highlight of my high school softball career would have to be placing third in Class 4A at the Iowa High School Girls State Softball Tournament as a freshman. However, I have grown the most as an athlete when I tore my ACL and Meniscus during basketball in November of 2019. This injury was a major setback in my sophomore year of sports, having to step away from the court, track, and even the softball diamond for my recovery. Throughout my recovery this injury has taught me to persevere through adversity and has shown me a totally different perspective of sports. One of my goals after surgery and during recovery was to be cleared to play my sophomore softball season, even if that meant only for a few games. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the start of my high school softball season was pushed back to June 1, 2020. With hard work and persistence, I was cleared on June 4, 2020 to play softball with my high school team and recently just finished our season with another appearance at the State Tournament.
Being around the world of physical therapy a lot, the occupation stuck out immediately. This is a great opportunity because this opens up my options for colleges. My goal is to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field, and my Doctorate in PT. At this moment I am very open to any division of college, and any location. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me academically and athletically.
I am very lucky to be apart of amazing high school and travel softball programs. I have had the opportunity to go and play at the Iowa High School Softball State Tournament my 8th grade year, my freshman year, and my sophomore year. I have also had the opportunity with my travel softball team to play and place in many of the best tournaments in the Midwest. Throughout these experiences, I have learned the value of teamwork, leadership, and how dedicated I need to be to play at the collegiate level.
