Zella Mount '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello!  My name is Zella Mount and I'm a 2023 graduate at Ogden High School, in Iowa that is a 5'6 first baseman. While I have also played second and third base.  I feel at home as a first baseman and will be finishing my next two years as a varsity first baseman.  I work hard academically in high school by having a 3.9 GPA. I love the game of softball for how mentally and physically challenging it is. I strive to accomplish the goals that I have set for school and softball. The harder I work in the "off-season" the better my team gets. I try to help my team by lifting weights at least 3 times a week and working on fielding and hitting on the weekends. I do not only play softball during the high school season but I also play USSSA and ASA league ball during the spring and fall seasons.  I dedicate my time and effort to the sport of softball because of my friends, coaches, my parents, the competition, competitiveness, and the passion I have for the game. I have a great work ethic and time management skills by doing extracurriculars inside and outside of school. I have been playing softball since I was three years old and my passion for the game has only increased throughout the years. I love to learn new teachings and strategies for the game every day.  I am great for college softball because I am an excellent student, hard work ethic, am competitive, and have a passion for softball.
