Tatum Shepherd '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi!  My name is Tatum Shepherd. I am a 2024 RHP/Utility from Schaller, Iowa. I am currently in track, wrestling, and my favorite; softball. While my favorite position is pitching, I also enjoy playing second base, shortstop, catcher, outfield, and third base. I have accumulated some great experiences while playing ball; I started in kindergarten and my love seems to have grown more for the sport every year. I have played on my school varsity team since 8th grade as a relief pitcher and baserunner, and became the starting catcher my freshman year. In 2022, I shared pitching duties as well as being the starting catcher. My work in the offseason and in practice helped me to improve not only my pitching, but also my batting. After my freshman season, I decided to play year round and joined the Tri-State Titan traveling team and in 2022 and 2023 the Sioux City Futures.  I have gotten quality playing time at pitcher, catcher, second, third, first, left, and center field in both 16U and 18U games in the fall and spring.   As a state-placing shuttle hurdler and state-placing girls wrestler, I have the quickness and athleticism to play wherever I am needed, and work very well in a team environment. Knowing that in 2023 and 2024 I will be the main pitcher for our high school team, I have been working very hard in the off-season perfecting my form, spin, and consistency on the mound, as well as my confidence, so I can lead our team as a pitcher.
