Good evening; my name is Simayra Robinson, and I am 15 years old. While playing softball at a young age, I fell in love with it. As I started to play the game more and more, it became very competitive. Being competitive became slightly easy with me being a military brat.... Self Explanatory! Yes! My father had taught me to have drive, ambitions, and compete on the field and in academics. When I was younger, I did not fully understand that life lesson, but as I have matured over the years, I can say I get it now. With that being said, I began to watch softball and baseball with my father at the age of 3 years old. At the moment, I knew I fell in LOVE with the game of softball. I have been playing softball since I was five years old, and I love to play the game and have fun. One of the main reasons I would love to go to college to play softball is because it's something I love doing, and I welcome the daily challenges and lessons that comes with playing the game; what better way to stay motivated academically to the game you love other than being on an athletic scholarship. Another things is I understand the game and how it should be played. I believe that I am very different from other girls that play softball. I say that not to look down upon any of my fellow sisters playing this game or anything of that nature. I have the pedigree in conjunction with the height, speed, confidence and most importantly I am COACHABLE. I Know that being from the small community of Tangipahoa, La that I have so much more to learn. Learning is what I thrive to do everyday of my life. my prayers are that I am Blessed with only a chance to farther my education while playing the game that stole my heart... Softball. Thank you for taking the opportunity to read my desires for a higher education and possibly acquiring an athletic scholarship.
