Anna Myers, 2020 ...Personal Statement
I have not been playing softball for a long time. I only started in the sixth grade and I had no idea what I was doing. My seventh grade year was the year that I decided to train to become a pitcher. Due to the short gap between my seventh grade year and my senior year I have had to overcome a lot of obstacles. It is because of those obstacles that I have learned how dedicated I am to being the best athlete and team mate that I can be. I have shown myself how mentally tough I am by pitching almost every single inning this past season and by pitching through some of the toughest games of my career. This small period of time has shown me how hard I have worked to get where I am now and how much I will work to get where I want to be in my future. Most importantly, I have learned my love and respect for this game. For that reason, I am willing to overcome many more obstacles, be more committed, work even harder, get mentally tougher and do whatever else it takes to play at the collegiate level.
