Sports is a major part of my life. I am an accomplished Cross-Country runner, but my favorite sport and passion is softball. I have been playing softball since I am 4 years old, and my passion for softball has accelerated over the past 4 years playing more competitive softball for my Middle School and Club teams. I play softball because this sport is something I truly love doing, and I appreciate every second I get when I am on that field. Softball is a game of failure, but to me that is what makes it great. It pushes me to be the best player I can be, even when I fail.
Softball has made me realize that the way I carry myself on and off the field is more important than how good I am. Through softball, I have also learned to be compassionate, grateful, honest and humble with myself and others I play with. These qualities have made me very coachable and willing to do anything to help my team. I have also learned to be a leader for my teammates. My family, coaches and mentors motivate me to be the best ME I can be on and off the field. My desire for this game continues to grow each day.
I have learned to use my own skill set as a slapper/hitter/bunter and an intelligent 2nd Baseman and Utility Player. I am an advanced slapper for my age. I am a fast runner and can outrun a lot of plays. I believe that getting on base, scoring runs and solid defense are vital in helping a team compete. In addition, I have been taught great foot work at second base and other positions.
I am currently a 4.0 student, and my academic goal is to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout High School. I plan on studying Pre-Medicine in college in hopes of getting into a Medical school and ultimately fulfilling my goal of becoming a Pediatrician someday.
I am excited to pursue my academic and athletic goals in college. I would love to get a quality education and compete in the sport I love at the next level. I think I bring a special/diverse set of skills that would help any team.
