Madison Nelson '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Madison Nelson, and I am part of the 2024 graduating class at Winnfield Senior High School.  I take pride in maintaining a 4.0 GPA while keeping a very busy schedule with extracurricular activities at school and travel ball.  With hard work and determination, I know I can achieve my ultimate goal of becoming part of a college softball team.  Since I was four years old, I have lived and breathed softball.  At eight years old, I knew without a doubt that softball would always be in my future. I began taking batting lessons I am still with my same batting coach seven years later.  I live in a small, rural town with limited resources for skills development.  With that, I have had to work extra hard on my own and travel several times a month to batting academies and clinics to sharpen my skills.  I lead my high school varsity team in RBIs and doubles during my freshmen year and made the 1st Team All-District (2nd Base).  I would say that is my biggest accomplishment; however, I will have to work much harder to maintain this level of success.  I believe that I deserve a shot at playing at the college level because I will put in the work and keep a great attitude.  I have always been taught that your attitude is everything.  To be successful, you must keep a great attitude when you are up and even when you are down.  I want to be part of a winning team with one heartbeat.  Softball has helped build my character and has given me lifelong friendships.  Most importantly, softball has challenged me and taught me to never give up—just work harder.  I will bring my work ethic and coachability to the table every single day.
