Ultimately my goals for my college experience is to study criminal psychology along with being able to play softball at the collegiate level. I've been playing since I can remember and the sport has always been such a big part of my life. Starting my sophomore year, I was really getting serious about my recruiting journey but unfortunately I had 3 major surgeries in the span of about a year and a half. After my first surgery we weren't really sure if I would even be able to finish my high school sports and when the 2nd and 3rd came after, it really discouraged me. Although this was a huge setback for me, I believe that and my recovery journey is what has set me apart from others. Even while I was in a boot or on crutches you would see me throwing a ball off to the side, working on my swing, whatever I could to stay warm. When realizing I needed to get back on track with my peers, I reached out to a personal trainer and have been working with her all summer. I just knew I needed to work that much harder than everyone else around me. Not only did that help me become in better physical shape, it has also helped me become stronger mentally and ultimately has just made me a better person all together. All skills aside I pride myself on being the best teammate I can be, I'm always the loudest one in the dugout, making sure everyone feels like they are apart of every win. That's something that has always come first to me. Something that is also important to me is my academics, during my high school career I've tried to get the best group of classes I possibly can each year. These classes include advanced, AP, and also college courses. Lastly, I am also an active member of my community, I enjoy partaking especially in mentoring younger athletes. I help out in our little league program whether it's umping or help coaching, I have been a counselor for multiple summers at our rec basketball camps, and as of right now a few parents have reached out to me to do some lessons with their daughters. Those are some things that really make me appreciate the opportunities I've been given in life and makes me even more grateful for this amazing sport.
