Karsyn Barrick '24 Recruiting Profile

   For the past 11 years softball has been my passion. 8 of those years I've played as a part of the Heartbreakers, a girls fast pitch class A organization. Several of those years where we earned a spot in the world series, winning one of those and placing in the top 5 in multiple others.  I also play as a part of my high school team where I've earned a starting spot on varsity since my freshman year. During my sophomore season my team and I made our way to becoming regional champions and competing in the state semi finals. I'm very motivated, coach-able, hardworking and would do anything to improve my skills. I have been pushed my whole softball career by my coaches and my dad to always do my best and that is what made me the player I am today.

As much as I enjoy the game of softball, I'm also looking for a school that has a strong focus on academics. Currently i'm studying criminal justice at my local vo-tech school and I've decided i would like to continue to focus in that area of study, majoring in Psychology, Criminal Justice, or Political Science.

 During my time off of school I've spent my days working along side my dad in the family business and helping to support our local community through our local firehouse, which I've been a member of since i was 14. This past summer i took the opportunity to do an apprenticeship at a local funeral home where i gained a lot of experience dealing with families in a time of grief, allowing me to sharpen my personal social skills.
