Personal Statement

I plan on majoring in Physical Education and my ultimate goal is to be a teacher and coach.

I have proven myself as a leader in the class room and on the field. I have a 3.95 GPA and am in the top 15% of my class, taking mostly  honors and AP classes.  I was named captain of my junior varsity soccer team (sophomore year) and softball team (freshman year), as well as for my travel softball team. I work hard to be a great teammate and try to motivate others to do the same. Last season I had a .375 batting average and .521 on base percentage playing for the River City Rippers Elite. I made my high softball school varsity team as a sophomore. While I am primarily an outfielder, I have also played in the infield as needed to help my team. I am playing for the Susquehanna Valley Slam 18U starting the fall of '16. I am excited to play with a new team and learn from new coaches.

In addition to softball, I have also played on the high school junior varsity and varsity soccer teams, participated in indoor track (running distance and sprints), participated in the marching band color guard and indoor color guard. I am also a member of the Link Crew, a leadership group designed to help freshman adjust to high school.

  • Additional evaluation and video - College PREP - Glen Arm (Baltimore), MD Amanda is a 2017 OF who continues to improve her skills. Offensively, Amanda does a lot of things right. She sets up square with a soft stride and activated load. Her timing is fluid with good use of her lower half. Developing more of a direct path to the ball will allow Amanda to generate more bat speed. Defensively, Amanda displays an athletic pre-pitch position, efficient foot work, and good body control. She does a good job of getting behind the fly ball, has sure hands on the ground ball, and carries her momentum through the play. Overall, Amanda is a talented player with lots of potential. -Lea Ann Jarvis, Softball Factory

  • 12/27/2015 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament Amanda is a 2017 OF who shows she has been working hard to improve her game. At the plate, Amanda does a lot of things right. Her swing is fluid with good, solid contact on each pitch. She has good at bats and got better throughout the event. She will benefit from keeping her weight in her legs. In the OF, Amanda does what it takes to make plays for her team. She has a strong first step, good body control, and quick footwork. She takes efficient angles around the ball with carry on her throws. Improving on using her momentum on throws from the outfield will increase her velocity significantly. Overall, Amanda is a talented player with lots of potential. She has a good attitude and the desire to learn. - Lea Ann Jarvis, Softball Factory

  • 3/08/15 to 3/08/15
  • 03/08/2015 - College PREP - Glen Arm (Baltimore), MD Amanda is a 2017 OF with a developing skill set. Defensively Amanda has an athletic presence and works hard to make the play in front of her. She has an aggressive approach and uses proper footwork when playing through the ball. Amanda has a fluid arm action and makes strong accurate throws to her target. Adding a pre pitch motion to her approach will allow Amanda to get a stronger first step on the ball and will also allow her to utilize a stronger crow hop. In the box Amanda displays a closed stance with good balance and on time rhythm. She sees the ball well and hops on pitches in her zone. Using a square stance would allow Amanda to utilize her lower half more through contact and will allow her to see an increase in her power production. Over all Amanda is hard working player with a passion for the game and with continued reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the next level. - Lea Ann Jarvis, Softball Factory

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
