My name is Kylee Brasefield. I am 16 years old who plans on a career in Kinesiology. School work is very important to me so I'm looking for that right college for me. I love the game of softball. I love the atmosphere and the thought of having a team there to back you up and be a part of making bonds with teammates. I try to really be my best self and focus a lot when it comes to softball and not only for me but also my coaches and teammates.
I personally believe that team means a lot more than just me and myself. Softball has always been a huge part of my life. I have played baseball since I was 5 and had to switch over to softball when I was 13 due to there being no softball available at 12 for girls but we luckily had a waiver for 7th and 8th graders to play on the high school team in which I made the team as a starter in 7th grader at 13 yrs old. I have fallen in love with the hustle and hard work of this sport and I have made great friends and connections with new people that I will never forget from my travel ball teams.
I am currently a starting Pitcher, but I also play 3rd base and 1st base on my high school team. I go wherever my coach needs me and this yr it has been starting pitcher, years before was 3rd and 1st base. I'm a first baseman on my travel team. I am a power hitter for my high school team. I became a leader as a freshman Captain. I bring everything I have to practices and games. I try my best and am always focused when it comes to the game of softball. I work as hard as I can to push myself and be the best version of myself as a player that I can be. I encourage my teammates and keep the energy up when we're losing and to not let them lose confidence in their abilities.
I'm always communicating with my teammates and helping them whenever it is needed if they have questions or need to be corrected on something whether it’s during games/practices or during the off season. I try my hardest on the field and off the field with everything I do and softball has definitely impacted my life and made me more confident and helped me to be who I am today. Softball has helped with my leadership skills and my self-motivation as well as my schooling and to keep my grades up. I am currently in Honors biology, Honors English and history and geometry c1 as well as chorus and I would love to play in college not just for softball but also looking forward to bringing my career path into play and be a hard working student athlete in college. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a great day! - Kylee Brasefield
