I first started playing softball in 4th grade and pitching the year after; I've been in love since. Adaptability, work ethic, determination, and a passion for learning are some essential traits that have gotten me to where I am, whether in school, on the field, or in the band room. As a pitcher, my adaptability has been crucial in my ability to adjust techniques and add new pitches. My passion for learning gives me joy when learning new pitches and new ways of doing things to improve my skills. The determination and work ethic I possess push me to practice the things I learn and master them to the best of my ability regardless of the time it may take.
Another example of all these traits in action together in my life is my involvement and success in all available band activities. My adaptability and passion for learning are once again evident in how many instruments I know how to play. My work ethic and determination are also shown again with the proficiency at which I can play those instruments. I've even gained leadership in multiple different sections of the band such as the flute section and the drumline section–in my time as the leader of the drumline, we earned many awards for best percussion.
My academics are proof as well of all these character traits working together in my life. With the combination of my work ethic, determination, passion for learning, and adaptability I have not only, as you've seen, obtained a 4.0 GPA in high school, but I've also maintained a 4.0 GPA in the college classes I've taken while in high school. While it may take me more time than others to do various things, I'm willing to put in the time and effort it takes to master skills and complete tasks to the best of my ability.
