First I want to say thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to view my profile. I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old and I knew from a very young age that I wanted to play college ball. Throughout these past 11 years, and multiple levels of play, I have learned a great deal about myself . I have learned that I am strong and resilient. I know I will get knocked down, but I will always get back up and work harder, become stronger, and never stop learning. I beleive I would be an asset to any college softball team, as I am a leader both on and off the field.
I was named team captain of my travel ball team, where I am starting shortstop and lead off batter. Last year as a Freshman I played on the JV softball team, where I was starting shortstop and lead off batter as well. I was also asked to play for the Varsity team, where we went undefeated in our conference, and were District Champs. My first love is shortstop, but i can and have played 8 out of 9 positions on the field. My speed and agility allows me to make plays both infield and outfield and my knowledge and love of the game has made me a quick and smart base runner. Every coach I have ever had has commented that I always give everything I have on the field, I am a team leader, and very coachable.
I am a sophmore at New Haven High School, where I have a GPA of 3.72, and currently applying to be a member of The National Honor Society. I am section leader for my schools marching band, which I have been involved in for the past 5 years. I was nominated by a teacher and trained to be a member of the Peer Mediation Committee, and I was also nominated to be a member of The Congress of Future Medical Leaders.
I am looking for a college that will both challenge and nurture me, and allow me to pursue my career in the medical field, as well as my long time dream of playing college softball.
Thanks again for reading my personal statement.
