When I look to the future I see myself reaching every accomplishment I have set for myself and playing at a collegiate level. I don't ever want to say "I wish I had done that", I want to be able to say "I did it and I'm proud of where I am".
Being part of a team and knowing how important my role is on and off the field makes me truly love softball. Starting off softball at an early age and recognizing this sport is something I love playing and putting in the time and effort doesn't ever feel like work to me. The reward for myself at the end of the day is knowing that all the time I have dedicated... had, has and is paying off. All the countless hours or group training, training on my own, lessons etc. are times I feel have molded me into a better player for myself and also my team. Listening and learning from my coaches and valuing their input only makes all my skills get better each day. I had made All-Catholic in 2019 as a Freshmen and I could have not reached that without the guidance and work that was put in. I look back upon that day and say "set a goal and achieved it".
My parents have instilled in me that not only is constructive criticism important within softball, but all throughout my academic schooling. I am hoping that the University I attend will also do the same as I pursue a career within the medical field and focus on Oncology.
My Catholic upbringing at home and school is something that is important to me and taught me to see past what others may not. I work hard on and off the field with always being there for my team, no matter what. Academically, I push myself and my drive is something I am proud of. On top of always working hard I love to laugh and have fun. There is nothing better than being around friends, family and team mates with smiles and laughter.
Each day may not be like the rest and sometimes those days should be put in your rearview mirror, but those lessons of fight, determination, growth and perseverance will always pay off. I look forward to being part of your University as an athlete that is able to grow throughout my years.
