Elexia Fuentes '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Elexia Fuentes and I am a Senior at Zeeland West High school in Zeeland, Michigan.  A key feature in my life has always been softball.  It's my  passion and when I play it makes me feel an unexplained feeling. Softball is where I have met some of my best friends and learned how to be apart of a team.  I love everything about the game. No matter where I am playing or how I am performing I will always give 110%. Currently I am entering my fifth year of travel ball and my second year of varsity. On both team I am a starter. With having such an important role on the teams I play with, I am always trying to improve my game and learn more. This helps me not only to be a better all around player, but gives me the opportunity to be able to help other as well. To help improve my game this year I am doing strength and condition, fielding and hitting clinics, and attending college camps. Each year I set goals for myself  to improve my game. This year my main focuses are to become more mentally tough, challenge myself more, and to become a better leader. Along with softball, I love to challenge myself academically. This year I have goals to maintain a 4.0 GPA, have a 1200-1400 on my SAT, and improve my softball game as much as possible. I also have a job with Zeeland Lumber and Supply Company as an HR Intern.  This job has helped me to improve my time management skills and learn about having more responsibilities. I believe that with my hard work ethics I can achieve any goal I set my mind too. I want to be the best team and player I can be and I believe  I could make a great addition to any softball program and team.  When I was growing up getting an opportunity to play at the college level always seemed like a dream.  Now going into my senior year and I now know it can be a reality. I want to play college softball and I will continue to work hard to achieve my dreams .
