Julia Gronholz '20 Recruiting Profile

Sports have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember.  I’ve played softball and basketball since I was 5 years old.  I have learned the most valuable lessons through sports that have allowed me to grow as both an athlete and a person, like how to handle adversity, the mental focus needed to succeed, and how to be an effective teammate and leader.  

One of my favorite memories is placing 3rd in the State Tournament with my high school softball team my freshman year.  Playing behind three D1 softball players helped me learn how far the love of and dedication to the game can take me.  That dedication is important to me both on the field and in the classroom.  I think one thing that sets me apart from others is my versatility.  Between my high school and club softball teams, I have learned and have played every infield position and would be able to offer that talent and versatility to a program at the next level!  

I am open minded about colleges and hope to find a college that fits me best.  It doesn’t matter about size or location; if I can receive a great education and play softball at a high level, I will be happy.  My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Education or Nursing.  However, my major may change over the course of the rest of my high school career.
