Megan Smith '24 Recruiting Profile

Sports and competition are a big part of my life. I have always had a strong passion and love for softball since I began playing at 10. While I played volleyball and basketball in the off season in high school, softball has always been my main focus and I am looking for an opportunity to continue to the next level. I am primarily a catcher but I also play 3rd and 1st base. My strongest athletic contribution is hitting where I led my high school team in homeruns and am currently leading my club team as well. I was in the top 10 for homeruns in Minnesota high school this last year (7) and I won MN softball Hub's performance of the week for a game where I went 4 for 4 with 3 homeruns and 8 RBIs.

I am a good student and am good with prioritizing my life. I work a part time job all year round and also work at a camp for younger kids at my high school in the summer. I am a hard worker and am able to commit time and effort into softball year round while still having other commitments and keeping my grades high and school a priority. 

I look forward to meeting new people and being a part of a new community while I pursue the next stage in my life. I have lived in Minneapolis my whole life and consider myself to be a city kid. I am comfortable in intimidating environments and difficult situations. I am a good teammate encouraging others even if I am not having a good day. I like to win and be challenged to always get better.
