I have played softball for as long as I can remember and I have learned many life lessons from this sport. I have also learned a lot about who I am as a person and a player through the game. Softball taught me that it is not just about the wins and loses, though everyone loves to win, but about the family and friends you gain. I have made some friendships that will last even after I go to college on my team and to me that is one of the most important things. These friends have taught me to always be more happy for your teammates successes than your own.
Softball has made me realize that when you really care about something you don't want to fail at it ever. Some of my failures hit me harder than others though. When you walk the lead off batter that is a small failure. When you walk the lead of batter then, allow a hit so that the game winning run that you gave a free pass to can score that is a bigger failure. But, I have also found that even when you have those big mistakes or failures your teammates are always there to pick you up and support you. For that I will be forever grateful because sometimes you just need that support to get over the hill.
