Makinley Thomas '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Makinley Thomas and growing up I dreamed of being a college athlete. I didn't quite know which sport I wanted to pursue in college, but as I grew older so did my love and talent for softball. Not only do I want to go to college for softball, I would love to go on scholarship either athletic or academic. I want to graduate college and get accepted into med school to pursue my dream of becoming an anesthesiologist or I am also considering a career in sports broadcasting. I bring a lot to a team. I have a positive attitude and I am very coachable. I am a leader and bring a lot of energy to the field. I always want to win, but losing is part of the game as well and provides opportunities for improvement. I am constantly aware of my teammates attitudes and I bring them up if they are upset with themselves. I am unique because I have such a positive attitude and I am someone anyone can go to for help, advice, or anything they need. In addition to softball, I compete  on the varsity basketball and varsity soccer teams.  I am not only dedicated to softball but I am also dedicated to my academic work.  I am an honor roll student and have multiple academic honors as seen in my profile. In fall of 2021, I was 1 of 10 students selected from my high school to attend the Sportsmanship and Leadership Summit.  I am in AP/D classes and spend a lot of time outside of softball studying. In my free time, I enjoy working out, watching Netflix, and spending time with family and friends.
