Kelsey Goodban '18 Recruiting Profile

I am seeking the opportunity to play softball while I am working toward my degree in elementary education.  I want to specialize in special education because of a dear friend and neighbor I have grown up with.  My softball experience has given me the drive and desire to want the most out of life.  I want to plaly softball because I love the game,  and it is fun.  Therefore, I want to play softball and earn my college degree!

When I was about five years old I knew I wanted to play softball and be a pitcher.  I went to my cousins state softball tournament, it was loud with her team cheering all day, hot and sweaty, and when it got dark the lights came on.  That's when I know I wanted to play softball and learn to pitch.  I have played softball since I was eight years old and have only played on two teams competitively.

My commitment to school has been a journey through Catholic elementary, junior high, and now Pius X High School where my education includes an environment that provides academic excellence and preparation to achieve a meaning full life.  Softball has taught me dedication to the mound, has made me a reliable pitcher and trusting teammate,  I feel the combination of softball and school has brought me strengths that will help me through college, as well as improve some of my weaknesses.  At this point my pitching has taught me patience confidence, perverseness, and mental strength.  This is what is helping me be a well rounded student and athlete.
