You'll hear from most swimmers that the first time they jumped in the pool they "took to it like a fish". That was not the case for me. When I started swimming at the age of seven, I was bad. As in, 'when I got my first ribbon my parents thought a mistake had been made', bad. But I learned to navigate the waters (literally) and now can't imagine myself in any other sport. Being able to swim on a collegiate team would be a dream come true. I've heard about the incredible atmosphere of college athletics and want to be a part of it. It is also my dream to compete in the 2024 Olympic Trials so continuing to train through college will give me a chance to work toward that goal.
I have the times and the drive to make a great addition to a team. I can be a great leader, but am also eager to listen and be coached. I work as hard as I possibly can in and outside the pool to reach my goals. Not only do I have great potential as a swimmer, but I excel in the classroom as well. Though I participate in numerous school activities, I maintain a very high GPA. I have many varied interests so I'm not sure what I want to study in college, but I always do my best to learn as much as I possibly can in all of my subjects. I want to find a college that will challenge me, but also help me succeed, in both the academics and sports. I want to become someone whom people look up to as a leader and a role model.
