My first 14U coach always said to me “good is the enemy of great” and at that time to me it was just a bunch of words in a sentence. As I got older those words began to mean something to me and it is what pushes me to push myself athletically and academically. I learned to never settle with just being good enough, but to always keep improving because there will always be ways I can better my game and myself. As a student, I try to challenge myself and go beyond the expectations. While on the field I look to set goals every game and practice so that there is always something I’m working to improve on. Through it all I am always aware that I am a member of a team and I have a responsibility to help my teammates succeed as well.
