My goal for the future is to play softball competitively at a collegiate level. I believe my ideal college is one that will guide me to improve athletically and academically. One of my goals is to pursue a degree in education. I’ve always been inspired by my mother, a longtime New York City school teacher who is currently an assistant principal. My dad is also a source of inspiration for me. He not only played baseball at the college level, but continues to mold young athletes in the sport he loves by giving pitching lessons. I have played softball for almost 10 years, and began to play more competitively with a travel team four years ago. I’ve played on a club team for the past two years and that is when I finally realized my love for the sport. My experiences with this team have made it clear just how important softball is to me. Despite the team’s ups and downs, it has been a perfect learning experience for me. My experiences on different softball teams have helped me develop my leadership skills. I am very determined and always work diligently on and off the field. Positive thoughts are crucial in sports and pushing myself to the limit is the number one attribute that has defined me throughout my years of playing softball. I am excited to take the next step of my journey as a student athlete, no matter where it takes me.
