My name is Melanie. I have been playing softball since I was 8 years old. I currently play for Commack High School Varsity Softball and I play for the Long Island Surge 18U Elite. I am an outstanding academic student with a 4.0 GPA and 1170 on my SAT's. I value my studies and have worked hard to find a balance between school, softball and having a social life.
I was one of two sophomore softball players to make the Varsity team in the 2017 season. The previous year the Varsity team won the Suffolk County championship for large high schools in Suffolk County, so making the Varsity team was a very big accomplishment as a sophomore. I had over 15 runs scored for the 2017 season. I have been clocked to run from home to first in 2.87 seconds and from home to home in under 12 seconds. I had batting average of .333 for the 2017 season.
I am the starting Centerfielder for my travel team, Long Island Surge 18U Elite. I batted in the lead off position. with a batting average for Summer 2018 of .433 with an on base percentage of .516 with 2 Homeruns.
