Throughout this learning process as a student athlete, one of my biggest goals is maintaining a great status and being the best that I can ever be, on and off the field. Whether it's in a classroom or on that softball field, I always want to reach the goal of being a positive, hardworking girl to achieve what I can excel to be.
As a Freshman, I received my first Varsity letter in high school, we were district champions, and I earned the rewards of 1st Team North-East Ohio and 2nd Team IVC. I was ranked 7th for pitching in Stark County overall. I played in 19 games, pitching 98 and 2/3 innings, having 88 strikeouts and giving up 3 walks. I throw anywhere accurately from 57-62 mph, depending on the pitch. My favorite is the screwball. Coming sophomore year, I planned on shooting for more and better my pitching with speed and accuracy, as well as bringing my batting up at the plate. As a team we went 20-6, were District Champions, Sectional Champions, and IVC Runner-up. Throughout the season, I intended to lead my team with good sportsmanship and encouragement as we fought to come through with great victory and hard work altogether.
Currently ending my Junior year, I struggle with the what-if's of the season that gotten taken away by a invisible enemy I cannot control. The Covid-19 pandemic has devastated myself along with so many girls having their High School season stripped away. I wanted so badly to have led my girls to a State game. We have it in us. I just have to look forward to my Senior year to prove we can do it.
I plan on striving for more , not only on the field, but in the classrooms as well. I currently have been taking honors classes for six years now. Senior year will hold more tough college course classes to prepare me for further learning after leaving my small town to reach for big dreams after 13 years at the same building. Currently, I am planning on becoming an animal/marine biologist or zoologist and doing whatever it takes to achieve my goal. As I lean towards this biology field, I plan on taking the best classes that are offered at my school that will help guide me to things I need to learn in life, for the subject, and in college for the next two years of high school left. As softball is important to me, education is at a higher level and I wish to succeed in my future career and classes.
