Hello Coach, my name is Taylor West and I am a 3 sport athlete at Wapakoneta High School, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, a member of the Western Buckeye League. I play varsity softball, swimming, and golf for the Redskins while maintaining a 4.0 cumulative GPA taking all honors classes. I have played softball since I was 6 years old. I pitch, play first base and outfield for my school and travel team, while batting in the 3rd, position in the batting line up. The last five seasons I have played travel ball for, and am still a member of the NWO Lady Buckeyes based in Lima, Ohio.
Staying busy with school and athletics is a big part of my everyday life, but I also find time to be part of the Octagon Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serve as a Class Officer for Student Senate, work on the school year book staff, and help as a Church Youth Volunteer. School work is very important to me as I have aspirations to be valedictorian of my graduating class of 300 students and have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA while taking honors and college credit classes.
I am a very hardworking person who will always work to lead my teammates to success. My job as a leader is to be someone my teammates and coaches can rely on to get the job done, and be someone to talk to when they are in need of help. I believe that the strongest people are not always the people who win, but they are the people who never give up!
I am looking for a University where I will be able to play high level softball. I am open to any location, but I want to go to a college where I am comfortable and find the right fit for me and my teammates. My goal for college softball is to be part of a team who takes workouts, practices and games seriously but also knows how to have fun in the moments that help bond us as a team and even more as a family. I believe I can be the missing piece of the puzzle for my future team and know that I will always do my best and help push my teammates to be the best they can be as well.
Softball isn't life, but it is a big part of my life and I would love to pursue my career playing college softball and continue to grow with the talents that I’ve been given.
