Hi. My name is Tianna Thompson. I am a Junior at Wapakoneta High School in Ohio this year2019/20. I will graduate in the class of 2021. One of my main passions in life is to play softball at the College level. I have been playing softball since I was 6, but most importantly I have been playing softball at a competitive level since I was 10. I have played on 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and now will be playing at the 18U level this summer. I can bring many things to a softball program such as Hard Work, Dedication, and an always positive attitude is gratitude towards the game, teammates, and my Coaches.
I started varsity for my High School team as a freshman in the catchers position. I also play for the NWO Lady Buckeyes 16u travel team. We are a highly competitive team out Lima, Ohio. This passed summer I played in tournaments such as 2019 Laser Nation(Columbus,OH), Sheer Madness USA National Qualifier(Elyria,OH), Challenge at the Creek( Beavercreek,OH), and USA Southern World Series(Chattanooga,TN) Also the National qualifier in Bloomington, Indiana
Not only do I work hard on the field, I also work hard in the classroom. I understand how important my academics are, and I have an accumulative GPA of 3.7. I was on the honor roll last year in high school and I am also apart of an extra curricular activity that is Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Also I play basketball on the Varsity basketball team.
My primary position is catcher, but I have played some 3rd base, 1st base and some outfield as well. I am very versatile, hard worker and know what is expected of me as a student athlete. I am open to try new things and understand that the team comes before me. I am always on time and always looking for ways to make myself better as a person and as a softball player.
Softball has given me great opportunities, and for that, I love and respect the game. I know that on and off the field I will have to be dedicated, focused, and work extremely hard and I am more then willing to do anything it takes to reach my goals and dreams of being a college athlete.
I am looking for a program that will be for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a two- sport athlete, I know I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
