My main goals in pursuing softball is not only because it's the sport I love but it's because it gives me a sense of personal satisfaction, competition and challenge. As I enter the next phase of my life, I am looking for a school that will allow me to continue playing the spport I love, provide balance, opportunity and help me obtain my educational goals for future success.
It challenges me when other things can't. It pushes me and makes me think about my decisions thoroughly. Softball has taught me so many things that I am able to take into the real world. It makes me mentally tough. I have always been told that softball is a mental game and that you may have all the talent in the world but if you aren't mentally tough then you will get beat and you will struggle. I believe I would be a good candidate for your team because of my work ethic, my personality, my character and my ability to be coach-able. I am always looking for ways to get better, I hate failing more than anything, but realize it helps me grow. Along with those I am very dedicated to what I do, I show leadership and responsibility on and off the field. My character while on the field and while off the field aren't much different except that I get a little more competitive while on the field. I hate to lose more than I love to win so that's what really drives my success. I use to get frustrated when I made a error/mistake and I would let it effect me the whole game but I have learned that that last play doesn't matter anymore, yeah I may have not fielded that last ground ball but guess what I have another ground ball coming right at me again and this time I am going to field it.
As far as academics go I have been admitted into higher level courses that include advanced, dual credit and AP classes. In all of those classes I have been able to receive a C or higher. I would not say that some of these classes come easy to me but I work hard and ask questions as needed. With that I would say that I am always looking for ways to better my academic understandings and grow my abilities.
