My name is Mya Stigall, I am a 5'11 second baseman, first basemen, and outfielder and right handed hitter. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I am a junior at McMinnville High School in McMinnville, OR and will graduate in 2023. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.2. I have been playing softball since the age of 5 and love the game. I would love to continue my softball career at a 4 year University and study Marine Biology, Forensics, or Nursing however my decision may change over the course of my remaining high school years. I am open to attending a school on the West Coast, in the Coastal South, or the New England area.
I’d love to play for a coach who values education, and will push me on the field to excel in the sport. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to continue my softball career and become the best player and teammate I can be. My goal ever since I was little was to play in college no matter what division level, just wanting to play. I believe working hard to achieve your goals is a major component in anything you do especially academically and in sports. Throughout high school I have always challenged myself to take advanced classes, either AP or just a grade level or two above mine.
Over the years of playing, I've usually been one of the youngest on the team which I've learned by example and what a real leader consists of. Now, as a junior on a team with mostly juniors and a few seniors, I've taken the time to notice that being a good leader doesn't just depend on physical capability but also the ability to pick up the team when we are down, have a positive roll on the team, keeping the energy up when most needed, and most importantly always being someone that your teammates can look up to and rely on to encourage hard work, and to influence respect and effort.
