For college, I plan on having my athletic achievements and my academic achievements take me to the next level. In that light, my aspirations have always been set high. I like to push myself and make myself better as well as my teammates better. If my skills improve but my teammates don't improve with me, I feel like I'm not helping my team get better. It doesn't take one person to win. It takes everyone together. Even if your ranked as the best pitcher in the nation, you couldn't have gotten to that point without a catcher. Everyone doesn't get places just on their own. However, off the field I don't let up. I take honors and AP classes to help push myself in ways sports can't. These higher level classes have helped me with time management. Sports has helped me with my academics by the pressure of having to keep my grades up. I think because of this I am able to come face to face with the pressures of sports as well. One thing that I feel like differs me from other recruits is my ability to help my teammates get better. I am always including my teammates and asking them if they ever want to go hit in the batting cage or take some ground balls on the field with me. I truly believe that together, a team can achieve anything. No one is successful alone.
