Cerinne Furniss '20 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was 12 years old for school and club teams, and in the beginning of my junior year (2018) I realized a little later than some that I was serious about softball. It's now a dream that I am very passionate about and am willing to work for endlessly to catch up to the level of competition that surrounds me and to compete at the collegiate level. I also take my school work very seriously and plan to major in business in college after graduating in 2020. I feel like my ambition and perseverance to do well in school, on the field, and in the real world makes me a great candidate to play for a college team.  My coach told me at the end of my freshman year after falling short in our league's championship game that she saw me being a leader not only on the field but in the classroom and the real world. Now at the end of my junior year, on June 4th, 2019 I had the honor of receiving the Eisenhower Leadership Award from the United States Military Academy which my coach Dr. Soda nominated me for.  Softball is a huge part of my life and helping teammates get better while watching my strides of improvement is one of the best things that I have been blessed to be able to experience.
