Cate Baran--Pitch...Personal Statement
My name is Cate Baran and I go Tyrone Area High School in Tyrone, PA. I plan on doing something with biology in the future, but I'm not still not decided on a major. I've been involved in sports since I was five years old. I started softball when I was in fifth grade. From there, I have been playing softball every chance I have. This past school year, I accomplished 152 strikeouts and batted a .375. My school's program also return to the district playoffs for the first time in 15 years. From these experiences, I have learned that I want to continue playing softball in college because I want to be on the field with a team. In this sport, I have created some of the best friendships I have ever had, and I want to continue that through college. Also, having a great education is one of my main priorities. In high school, I'm currently playing three sports and having to balance my school work and I believe this will help give me the tools to succeed in college in the classroom and on the softball field.
