I am a dedicated softball player who graduated in 2023 but took a courageous step to take a gap year. I opted to work in a PT environment to test drive my occupation as I planned to continue my education to earn my doctorate in physical therapy (DPT). This has been a valuable year for me as I have learned that PT is not a great career option for me. I will enter college undecided, but I know that I want to focus on the health and sciences area. I am a good student as evidenced by my membership in NHS for my academic and community achievements and was consistently on the High Honor Roll graduating with a 4.04/4.00 GPA.
While academics will always be a priority, my passion is softball. My goal is to play softball at the next level on a competitive team among players and coaches that will become like my family. During my gap year I continued my softball career playing with my very competitive Pegasus Softball Travel team. I have been playing softball since the age of 7 and have been a starter on the Varsity High School team each year since Covid stole my freshmen year. Similarly, I am the main starter for my travel team, typically playing 1st base when not pitching. I have been graced to work with great coaches who know the game well and who hold high standards pushing me to be my best every outing. I work hard in private lessons weekly for pitching and batting and spend time conditioning and practicing on my own. Softball has inspired me and taught me many things about building relationships, working through challenges, and dealing with defeat to name a few. I know that I will bring several advantages to any team I play with and truly look forward to showing my dedication and hard work to my next softball family.
I am looking for a school that will further both my softball career and my education for success in life. A school with a strong undecided major program would be preferred. Thereafter, I am looking for a team that has a skilled set of coaches and leaders that field a competitive team where I can help grow or sustain a program. I am open minded about colleges and am generally looking for a campus that has a large feel, great student body atmosphere and some serious football would not hurt! My main focus is an NCAA Division program on the east coast within a 4-hour drive of Philadelphia PA.
Thanks for taking the time to see if I am a good fit for your team.
